Amancay Tapia is a London-based journalist and filmmaker born in Pontevedra, Spain and known for her wide-ranging articles, sharp opinions, and cultural commentary.

FILMMAKING WORK
She is also an avid filmmaker filmmaker . Her portfolio includes the feature film “Campo De Batalla” and a collection of short films. Her film “Rescue Me“, was hailed by El Pais newspaper as the film of the 2008 crisis. Other notable works include The Invisible Woman , I love You Not or the film Girl on Holiday, shot in Harbour Island, the Bahamas.Her latest documentary, “Harbour Island: Wisdom Keepers,” premiered at the Bahamas International Film Festival in 2024, celebrating the voices and traditions of local elders.
Amancay was one of the first filmmakers to be invited to the Berlinale Talent Campus during the Berlin Film Festival. Explore more of her films here
