Christmas is just around the corner and many Americans will be celebrating in the company of their beloved dogs. This time of the year has traditionally been associated with family and good friends.

However many people are alone, not everyone has a family or gets on well with the family they have, so many will be celebrating in the sole company of their pet. The good news is that the pet enjoys the festive spirit just as much as we do.

According to Guide Dogs charity, your pet enjoys listening to Christmas songs, and they actually released a list of festive songs that dogs enjoy listening based on a survey of 1,000 dogs owners.

These are the dog’s top five favourite Christmas songs.

1. “Last Christmas” by Wham!

This 1984 song by pop duo Wham! tells the story of a failed love affair and the feelings the singer has towards his ex lover.George Michael, one of Wham’s members, tragically died on Christmas Day 2016.

2. “Jingle Bells”

Written by James Lord Pierpont in 1857, the popular Jingle Bells was first published with another title, “The One Horse Open Sleigh.”
